Montréal's short-term rental rules, in short
Since 2025, most Montréal boroughs only permit short-term rental of a primary residence between June 10 and September 10. Secondary and investment properties face tighter restrictions and are banned outright in much of the city outside designated zones. Rules vary by borough and change periodically — always confirm your listing's status with the city and the CITQ before booking guests.
This matters for cleaning too: if your unit is Airbnb-only for the summer window, we recommend booking standard recurring cleaning (see our house & condo page) for the rest of the year rather than leaving the space unmaintained.
